Statutory/Delegate Roles
Chair
Amy Hamrick
I am Amy Hamrick and I am running for Chair of the 5th LD Democrats.
Politics has always been a passion of mine and wherever I’ve lived, I’ve made it a priority to get involved in the local or state Democratic organizations.
I moved to WA in 2022 and immediately jumped into working with the passionate volunteers of the 5th Dems. Since then, I have served as 2nd Vice Chair and PCO Chair for the 5th, been an elected delegate to the 2024 State Convention, and been appointed first as volunteer coordinator, then PCO Chair for the King County Democrats. I have really enjoyed getting to know voters around the 5th through canvassing, staffing our LD booth at local festivals, and attending campaign events.
The 5th LD Democrats are known throughout the state as one of the most active and engaged LDs. I have been proud to work alongside the executive board, LD membership, and volunteers for the past 2-1/2 years. Along with our elected officials, we’ve shown up for our community and kept the 5th BLUE, even through difficult redistrictings. I would be honored to be elected Chair of the 5th LD Democrats as we continue this important work.
First Vice-Chair, Membership, Rules and Bylaws
Elliot Paull
I would like to serve again in leadership of the 5th District Dems as First Vice Chair, Membership Chair, and Rules and Bylaws Chair.
State Committee Member – Female

State Committee Member – Male, Platform & Resolutions
Tim Noonan
It has been an honor to have served for the past two years as our LD State Committee Member. This position requires a huge commitment of time and energy, attending party, committee and caucus meetings and candidate forums. Our party has done amazing work to propel Democratic values forward. I would be honored to serve for another two years keeping this momentum accelerating as we face the likely onslaught of sever challenges that will need solutions.
As Committee Member, I serve on the WaDems Advocacy Committee which compiles the party’s legislative priorities and distributes them to the Democratic Party elected leaders prior to the legislative sessions.
As the Platform and Resolutions Chair for the 5th LD, I also serve on the WaDems Platform Committee, updating the WaDems Platform. This work intensifies during the six months prior to the party convention every even year. This committee work requires 70-100 hours of work in preparation for as well as the actual committee meeting times.
The satisfaction gained from the commitment to work on these teams is fulfilling and uplifting. Again, I would be honored to serve the 5th in these positions for another term.
King County DCC Delegate – Female
Carol Lynn Harp
I am Carol Lynn Harp, and I am self-nominating for KCDCC Delegate (female). I have been KCDCC Delegate or Alternate for many years, so I am familiar with the position. I am glad to participate in these meetings and report on them at our LD meetings.
I am a heterosexual female and a member of the human race (specifically Caucasian) with European ethnicity. I am 85 years old.
My religion is Christian, and I believe only God knows everything, and we humans do the best we can.
My economic status is retired. I live in Black Diamond, which is in the southern part of our LD.

Mary Williams
I have been honored to serve as Chair of the 5th LD Democrats for the past four years, and I’m also excited to see new leadership of our organization. I remain committed to the 5th Dems and our important work, and I would love to serve as Second Vice Chair to help with the transition to new leadership and to assist with meetings and other tasks as needed.

Assistant Treasurer
Zach Hall
Friends & fellow Dems – I’m nominating myself to retain my position as Assistant Treasurer. For the last several months, I’ve been working closely with our amazing Treasurer, Eric, to help out where I can & learn more about the important work he does to keep the wheels of the 5th LD Dems turning. I’d love the opportunity to continue this effort in 2025. As a recent MPA graduate from the UW Evans School, I have advanced training in government & nonprofit financial management. I’m also familiar with the various reporting requirements of the PDC given my experience running campaigns & my current role on the Issaquah City Council. I’m looking forward to the reorg meeting & I hope I can count on your support!
Fundraising Chair
Johna Thomson
For the past four years I’ve served as the 5th Dems Communications Chair. Last year I co-chaired the 5th Dems first-ever Spring Fundraiser. It was a great success with nearly 100 guests and earning $16,000.
I’d like to continue to grow this fun and successful fundraising event in the years to come. I realized last year that doing both the Communications and Fundraising roles at the same time required too much time. I’m happy to train someone else in the Communications roles and help where needed.
I’ve enjoyed being a part of the 5th Dems eBoard for the past four years. It’s a great group of people who are committed, passionate and fun. Everyone steps in to help where needed and to make our events successful.
Festivals
Roger Ledbetter
I was a co-Chair of the Festival Team the last the last two years along with 3 others. We had a very successful two years. We marched in 5 parades and had a booth at every festival in the 5th LD.
For the 2025-26 term Beth Basley and I will be continuing and Jessie Weber and Raj Basi will be joining us.
Festivals
Beth Bazley
I love festivals and parades and I can’t wait to march and hang out with all the Dems across the 5th next summer. Please include me in the festivals team!
Nominations
Jenn Askew, Mary Williams
We are nominating ourselves as a slate to co-chair the Endorsements Committee. Especially during odd years when our district has a lot of local elections, we think the organization will benefit from co-chairs who live in different parts of our district (Jenn in Maple Valley and Mary in Issaquah) and can share the workload of managing our endorsements process. We have both been members of the Endorsements Committee for several years and have learned a lot from Beth Bazley’s leadership. We are committed to continuing to run an organized and fair process that empowers our membership to make informed endorsement decisions.
Technology Chair
Martin Buckley
I have been honoured to support the 5th Dems as Tech Chair for six years. The highlights have been supporting our move to virtual meetings, and building a safe, anonymous and auditable online voting platform which has served us well since 2020.
