Mission statement

We are the Democrats of the 5^th Legislative District of Washington State (“5^th Dems”).

• We believe in a healthy and thriving democracy that respects all voices.

• We promote:

  • wise environmental stewardship
  • quality public education
  • reimagined public safety
  • accessible healthcare
  • economic opportunity and fair wages

• We work to elect public servants who are committed to pursuing these goals at the national, state, and local levels.

With approximately 140,000 Washingtonians, the 5th Legislative District (LD) includes:

• both suburban and rural areas of East King County
• the cities of Black Diamond, Maple Valley and Snoqualmie; most of Issaquah; portions of Sammamish, Renton, and North Bend
• areas of unincorporated King County, including precincts in Auburn, Black Diamond, Enumclaw, Fall City, Hobart, Issaquah, Kent, Maple Valley, North Bend, Preston, Ravensdale, Renton, and Snoqualmie
