Annual Membership – 5th Legislative District Democrats

How to become a member of or renew your membership in the 5th Legislative District Democrats of Washington State.

We are a community of Democrats who realize that electing leaders who share our values requires that we make a sincere effort to help Democrats get elected to local, state and national posts.

Dues cover our annual operating expenses. Additional donations help us support our endorsed candidates through campaign contributions and our Get Out the Vote mailer.

To vote at a General Membership Meeting, members must join at least 21 days prior to the meeting. These meetings take place on the third Wednesday of each month via Zoom.

You can become a member or renew your membership by declaring yourself a Democrat and paying dues. However, to be eligible to vote on membership rules and to endorse candidates, you must live inside the boundaries of the 5th LD. You can confirm your LD with King County Elections here.

Annual Membership Dues: (one-payment)

Individual Membership: $40
Household Membership – Individuals living in the same household.
- First Adult: $40
- Additional Adult: $20 each
- Additional Youth $10 each (Youths are between 17 and 25 years old as of Feb. 1.)

Option to pay monthly. To sustain your annual membership over time, or to spread out your dues payment, you can opt to pay $10 (or more) per month for either the Individual or Household Membership. We appreciate a twelve-month commitment for this monthly option.

Option to pay more. Make a greater impact by increasing your membership contribution. You can specify an amount to contribute higher than the calculated amount after submitting the registration form.

Option to pay less. The inability to pay is not a barrier to membership. Pay what you can or contact [email protected]. If you need to pay less, enter the amount you can afford at the bottom of the next page.

Other Details

Annual Membership runs through January 31st of the following year.
Precinct Committee Officers (PCOs) are automatic voting members of the 5th LD Dems without paying dues. However, we strongly encourage PCOs to help cover our operating expenses through dues and/or donation.
